The Medieval Center of Berat, located in the lower part of the city, is one of the most important historical sites from the Ottoman period in Albania. This religious and cultural complex reflects the profound Ottoman influence on the social and spiritual life of Berat. <\/p>\n

King Mosque is among the most outstanding monuments in Albania. Built around 1480 by Sultan Bayezid II, the building includes a minaret, a bright prayer hall, and an elegant open portico. Inside, a two-tiered mafil is supported by columns with decorative arches. The richly carved wooden ceiling features rosettes with verses from the Quran, and a frieze with the 99 names of God adds exceptional artistic and spiritual value. <\/p>\n<\/span>\n

Next to the mosque is the Halveti Tekke, an important Sufi religious center founded in the 15th century and rebuilt in the 19th. Surrounded by a tranquil courtyard, the building impresses with its murals, decorative inscriptions, and beautiful carved and painted wooden ceiling. <\/p>\n

South of the tekke are the former rooms of the dervishes, built in the 19th century. These rooms, with stone walls and wooden roofs, served as both residences and ceremonial spaces. An open chardhak, supported by wooden columns, functioned as a meeting and rest area. <\/p>\n
