The guided tour of Berat begins in front of the Orthodox cathedral in the city center. The religious harmony is highlighted by the Cathedral of Saint Demetrius and the Lead Mosque. In a private vehicle, we will ascend to Berat Castle, one of the largest inhabited fortresses in the Balkans, with over 500 residents. We will stroll through its medieval streets, exploring churches, mosques, and scenic viewpoints.
Next, we’ll visit the historic districts of Gorica and Mangalem, connected by the Gorica Bridge and eveloped in myth and tradition. We’ll stroll through the narrow streets of Mangalem, known as the “quarter of a thousand windows,” until we reach the medieval center with the King’s Mosque and Helveti Tekke. The tour concludes on Republika Boulevard, where the city’s historical transformations are evident. The tour lasts approximately three hours.
